It’s no secret that my love for side streets has blossomed since I’ve moved to Europe. Winding, partially hidden, and full of secrets like overlooked boutiques and architectural treasures. Here, some shots of side streets in Düsseldorf:
My friend, Hans, says that after World War II, many of the older buildings in Germany were bombed as punishment. These blocks in the Altstadt are some of the oldest remaining ones in Düsseldorf.
Is there anything lovelier than a cobblestone street?

HA! Very clever. I have a ton of these shots of well, taken in France and Italy. There must be something very soothing to the human eye about these parallel structures and cobblestone streets.

I’m thinking this reminds me of my fascination with bridges. I don’t know how many photos I’ve taken through my sunroof up into bridges over the years 😆

Dusseldorf is the only city in Germany I’ve visited. I spent a lot of time walking and wandering the streets there, too – it was a really nice place, though the people’s fashion was a bit strange.
